Redcoat originally formed in 1976, REDCOAT began as a management company, responsible for the commercial operation of a Ghanaian-registered cargo airlines, subsequently operating its own aircraft throughout West Africa as Redcoat Air Cargo Ltd. a cargo airline in its own right.

Redcoat Express Ltd., was formed in 1983 as the freight forwarding arm of the airline also provided freight for the scheduled carriers (British Caledonian and Sierra Leone Airlines) serving the routes in which Redcoat had specialized - West Africa.

Redcoat opened, and still today maintains offices in Freetown, Sierra Leone and Banjul, The Gambia & USA.  At Banjul's International Airport, Redcoat has made a substantial investment with the construction of the International Freight Center. A modern air-conditioned and fully computerized facility, complete with state-of-the-art security scanning equipment, housing Gambian Customs & Excise cargo officers, handling imports and exports for the many airlines serving this important region.

A similar facility has been opened at the Port of Banjul so that our weekly sea containers are now received and processed by Redcoat staff, once again providing a seamless service for our many customers.

As a direct result of these facilities, and having our own staff in The Gambia and Sierra Leon, Redcoat became a natural contact point for customers wishing to make procurements overseas.  Our worldwide network of contacts coupled with our ability to source, procure at advantageous rates and then to ship clients' goods within the stated time-frames has proved to be a major step in meeting the growing demands of these emergent markets.
