Daughters of Gambia - The Young Gambian Girls Association

The aim of the Association is to promote the development of young girls in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential. As individuals, as responsible citizens, and as members of their local and national communities.

Our Story

My name is Adama Jarju, I am a Gambian. I am running a charity organization with a friend, Vincent Benedict, who lives in the UK. As a girl child I felt it necessary for us to empower other girls. My biggest challenges is that I don't want to see my fellow women's suffer. I always stand to protect girl child by helping them to achieve their dreams.

Daughters of Gambia was set up a year ago in the village of Siffoe, Gambia, to eliminate Female Genital Mutilation and Child Marriage. We now have 27 young girls, aged 10 to 15 yrs old, and we support them by providing education, sport and community projects. In 2019, we carried out tree planting, street cleaning, playing baseball/football, debating and many other activities.To continue our work, and increase the numbers of girls we work with, we need your help. 100% of your kind donation goes to providing for the girls.
